How do you measure quality?

Silver and white tarps are a much higher grade than the 2 ply blue tarps.
I measure the overall quality of tarps by comparing them by the weight per sq. yd.
Blue is .16 lbs./ sq. yd. ; White is .30 lb./sq. yd., Silver is .35lb./ sq. yd.
White is often used for side walls or festive occasions for better lighting but can get dirty faster).

1B The tarp does not come with ball bungees which are available in 6" and 9" sizes.
These tarps are made of tough poly vinyl material. They are reinforeced and lalminated with high density polyethylene fabric.They are water, rot, and mildew resistant. They have sealed in hems, reinforced corners, rustproof grommets that are 16 to 24 inches apart. If you see anything underlined on this page you can click on it for further information or views.

The approximate finished size is always smaller than the posted cut size. A tarp will sometimes come with a finished size printed on the label but even that size is never exact. Therefore, before you cut your pipe it is important that you measure the length of the tarp in both directions. These tarps are twice as heavy as the industrial grade blue tarps. They are about 6 mil and weigh .30 to . 35 lbs / sq. yd. The construction grade blue tarps weigh only .16 lbs per square yard.

Any tarp can be punctured. If your tarp ever gets punctured the hole will not run like in a pair of nylons. They fibers are multi- directional. The hole can be easily covered with a piece of duct tape.

At the bottom of the chart are photos of silver and white tarps in use . These tarps do not come with hardware or ball bungees. The prices in the table are for standard tarps that are not flame or fire retardant. Flame and fire retardant tarps are available in a limited number of sizes but at a higher prices as shown in the red box below.

Tents with a 4 sided Valance. This model gives you valance coverage on all 4 sides.
2 extra custom cut FCa $ 8 fittings are required along with a larger tarp to cover the edge without losing too much of your footprint size. With the 4 sided valance you are provided with different side hardware but it does not cost any more. The 4 side valance is more difficult to put up because all of the sides have to be exactly the same.

5a of 76 Hip Roof Tents.

Most of the tent diagrams and photos in this website have a
gable a roof. Below is a hip roof where all sides shed water.
The gable roof is the easier to assemble to assemble than the pyramid or
hip roof shown below.
The pyramid and hip roof tents are more complex because there are several angles
that require the pipe to be cut exactly. Our pyramid and hip roofs use a square or rectangular tarp
and there will be corners will gather excess tarp like folding a bed sheet corner. It is not a perfect fit.
It will look like the 20x 30 hip roof tent below.

A hip roof is more expensive and more complicated to assemble than a gable roof. It is less flexible
to using the parts to make a larger or smaller tent.

A 10x10 Pyramid Tent with a 4 valances without sides using a 12x12 tarp is $ 138.82

This is a picture below of a 7x 7 with out sides using a 10x10 tarp.
The pipe would be longer to make it 10x10 and add bottom side hardware.

A 10x10 Pyramid Tent with a 4 valances without sides using a 12x12 tarp is $ 138.82.

With sides add:
$32.00 for the hardware,
$33.60 for 4 7x 10 (or 2 7x 20 ) tarps
$20.00 for 100 ball bungees.

Total for this kit is $ 224.42. The top uses a simple square tarp and does have gathered
excess tarp at the corners as shown.
On all of our tents you purchase the 1" EMT electrical conduit pipe at Home Depot in your city.
Pipe is too heavy to ship. You purchase it locally.

This is a new economical Pyramid Tents, Click Here for photos purposes. It uses our very
strong hardware with a simple economical square tarp with excess tarp gathered at the
corners. This model can also be used to totally seal in a tent as the upper tarp sheds water
to the outside of all 4 sides. Unfortunately this $ 12 tarp is not custom sewn for this purpose
as we would like but it may be what you need. Sides on this fit nicely and all water is shed
to the outside.

This photo is of a 10' x10' tarp on a 7' x7' wide frame. The legs could be cut shorter to
make a sand box cover, garden plant shade shelter, beach sun blocker, construction site cover, etc.
You can make a larger gazebo look shelter using our 12x12, 14x14, 15x15, 20x20 and a
24 x24 tarp. (Some tarp sizes only come in silver.)

These 16 mil clear tarps ( much heavier than standard tarps) are great for a window in a tent. You will have a floor to ceiling picture window to enjoy the view. All tarps have grommets from 16 to 20 inches apart.

These have a sewn   reinforced hem and a horizontal glue seam which is

Most standard factory mass produced silver and white tarps are a cut size of

Our frame tents uselocking tent bolt fittings work with 1 inch 10' long eletrical conduit EMT pipe you purchase locally from your home convenience stores.1"EMT electrical conduit pipeis inexpensive and is easily available and a less expensive than using 1.5 inch or 2" pipe. Call your local Home Depot, Lowes, Manards, Tin Barn or Builders Square home convenience stores for the price. It will usually be under $4 for a 10 ft piece. It only comes in 10 ft lengths. It is now selling for $3.19 each in Houston. This tent frame becomes very strong by using the reinforced triangle based frame. The hardware is made of steel and not soft aluminum or plastic. All parts are interchangeable. The tarp cut edge would not be hemmed but there would be 2 extra grommets added beyond the normal grommets to disperse the pull stress. The normal tarps are not exactly size that they are published at but they are a little smaller. 63 of 76 VALANCE TENSIONING SYSTEM. We recommend it because: 1. It gives a little extra protection from the the sun and shade without having the sides. *2. It allows you to make the the top tarp neat and tight because the hardware* slides up and down the 1" pipe supports to put tension on the it. 3. It gives the tent a nicer overall look. You see less framing from a distance. It is also a good place to put a banner, slogan or the name of your group. 4. It make the frame even stronger. You place one valance fitting on each support leg and connect the legs with a valance pipe to connect your tarp. 5. On 20ft wide tents you can use the top roof pipe at the 10 ft length with out cutting them if you get an oversized tarp that costs just a little more. 6.
