Hi, I am Josephine Visnovske.

I am 93 and thankful for of all the wonderful years God has given me. I have 2 daughters

Rosemary Nelson and Sibyl Scheve. I have 2 son in laws Brian Nelson and Bill Scheve.

Amber Caver, Meredith Nelson, Avery Nelson, Grant Scheve and Madeleine Scheve.

I have one great granddaughter Alyssa Caver and a great-Grandson Andrew Caver.

JOSEPHINE LEDNEK WAS BORN IN LAB,AUSTRIA, ON MARCH 18,1888
PAUL HORNAK WAS BORN IN NITRA KOLATKA, AUSTRIA, MAY 22,1881. THEY WERE MARRIED ON FEB.6,1907 THEY
IMMEDIATELY EMIGRATED TO KITTANING , PENN. ARRIVED AT ELLIS ISLAND ON MARCH 23, 1907
THEY HAD FIVE CHILDREN- THOMAS,-DEC.8,1907,-JOHN-MAY6,1909,-MARY,-AUG.15,
1910.ALL THREE BORN IN KITTANING PA.
JOSEPHINE-SEPT. 3,1915--JULIA,-FEB.1, 1923. -- BOTH BORN IN CRYSTAL CITY, MO.
MOVED FROM PA.. TO CRYSTAL CITY ABOUT 1911--DAD WAS EMPLOYED BY PITTSBURG PLATE GLASS CO. WHERE HE BECAME A FOREMAN.
MOVED TO DETROIT - DAD WAS EMPLOYED BY FORD MOTOR CO. FOR A BIG INCREASE IN DAILY WAGES...LAYOFFS AND SLOWED PRODUCTION CAUSED US TO MOVE TO ST. LOUIS ABOUT 1928--WHERE DAD WORKED AGAIN FOR P.P.G.AT THE ST.LOUIS BRANCH.

PAUL HORNAKS FATHER DIED LEAVING HIS WIDOW WITH SOME PROPERTY, WHEN DAD WAS SIX. SHE REMARRIED AND DIED IN CHILD BIRTH IN 1886 LEAVING BEHIND A HALF BROTHER NAMED JOHN BENAK. THE DAY SHE DIED THE CRUEL STEP FATHER MOVED PAUL OUT OF THE HOUSE TO LIVE IN THE BARN. AUSTRIA HAD NO LAWS TO PROTECT ORPHANS, SO OUTRAGED NEIGHBORS CONCERNED FOR THE PLIGHT OF A BEATEN HALF STARVED CHILD , STAGED A TOWN MEETING. A YOUNG COUPLE NAMED SIMEON TOOK PAUL IN AND RAISED AND EDUCATED HIM.
DAD AND MOTHER BOTH WORKED IN AUSTRIAN VINYARDS UNTIL MARRIAGE.

THE CHANGE IN SPELLING O F NAMES OCCURED AS A CLERICAL ERROR WHEN CHILDREN WERE ENROLLED IN SCHOOL.
